The RC Zone is intended to provide a friendly and helpful atmosphere for hobbyists to receive help to their questions and share knowledge. In order to maintain order and a sense of community, all users should read and follow these conditions. By participating in the forum, you are agreeing to comply with these terms. This list has been created to provide you with information about what you can expect here, what is expected of you, and to answer some questions you may have. If you have any questions or concerns that are not addressed here please direct them to an administrator or moderator.
Forum Rules & Guidelines
Language
This is an english-speaking forum. If you post in a different language, your post will be removed. Cussing is allowed. However, it is never acceptable to use derogatory language towards another member. Do not try to bypass the censors and please keep cussing to a minimum.
Religion & Politics
Everyone is free to express their views and opinions on this forum. However, due to the human nature and passionate beliefs we all have, it is best to keep religion and politics out of our hobby.
Drugs & Sexual References
References to the use of illegal substances and sexual acts are forbidden on this forum. There are plenty of places on the internet to find such material and The RC Zone is not one of those places.
Photos
Photos must be kept under 800 pixels wide. If you can not resize your photos you will need to link to them rather than use the image tag.
Signatures
Signatures are to be kept to a minimum and must not be distracting. Signature images are to be kept under 60kb and 600x100 (WxH) in size. Links to other websites are prohibited. For signature images be sure to insert [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] somewhere into your signature.
Thread Bumping
You may only bump a thread once per day. Excessive bumping will result in your thread being removed. If you are not getting any replies consider editing your thread.
Don't Guess
If you don't know the answer to a question, don't try and guess and tell the person what to do. The RC Zone is full of different opinions and experiences, but guessing and telling somebody incorrect information could be costly or troublesome.
Post Whoring
Do not reply to threads to increase your post count or with small 2-3 word responses. Members are respected by the content and length of their posts, not their post count.
Vague Subjects
Please use a descriptive and helpful subject when starting a new thread. Posting "I need help" isn't very helpful. Obviously you need help if you're posting here. Something more along the lines of "My shocks keep leaking" would be a more appropriate choice.
Problematic Members
If someone is causing problems or behaving immaturely, please do not respond to their posts. Always report posts that are inappropriate so an administrator or moderator can clean them up. If a member continues to harass you please notify an administrator or moderator.
Infractions System
The RC Zone utilizes an infraction system that allows the administrator and moderators to issue infractions for bad posts. If you get 5 infractions in under 30 days you will receive a 1-month ban. If this happens a second time you will most likely be permanently banned from the site.
Reputation System
The reputation system provides a way of rating members based on the quality of their posts. Members can add or subtract reputation points from other members by clicking the reputation link next to their posts. The longer you've been a member and the more posts you have reflects your reputation-altering power. For every 30 days of membership or 100 posts you receive 1 point of reputation-altering power. For every 100 points of reputation you will see 1 dark green box and for every 200 you will see a bright green box. Senior members have a bigger impact on members reputation. If you see someone make a great post click the reputation icon and click "I approve" to issue positive reputation. If you see someone posting inappropriate material or spamming/trolling you can click "I disapprove" and issue negative reputation.
Account Removal
Removal of your account is entirely up to the administrator. If your post count is low or you're a new member, account removals and username changes may be allowed at the discretion of the administrator.
RC of The Month Rules & Guidelines
Two Months
You must be a registered member of The RC Zone for a minimum of 60 days to participate in this contest. The forum will show voting buttons for the polls if you meet the 60-day requirement and show the results if you have not met the 60-day requirement.
Factory Default Paint Schemes
All entrants must enter a body they painted or had professionally painted. The body must have originally been clear and been painted by yourself, a friend, or a professional airbrushing company. Stock bodies included with kits and RTR's are not allowed, nor are mass-produced pre-painted bodies such as those by Atomik and Venom Racing. The paint jobs must be custom! There must be no duplicates anywhere else in the world! Standard paintjobs are allowed. This includes bodies with a solid color.
Vehicle Ownership
The vehicle in your submitted photo must belong to you. You can not take photos of other peoples vehicles and try to enter this contest.
Photo Quality
RC of The Month is about effort and craftsmanship. Your photo may be denied for a variety of reasons including size, lighting, clarity, shadows, environment, background objects and focus. The minimum pixel size is 640x480 although we prefer the original straight from your camera. Generally outdoor photos are better. Experiment and try different angles and places. And please disable the timestamp on your camera. You can do this in the menu settings.
Photo Submission
By submitting your photo for RC of The Month, you agree that the photo becomes property of The RC Zone and may be used in online publications and graphics, printed flyers, or any other usage we see fit. Your photo will never be sold without your permission. Please e-mail your username, real name, and photo to 'admin', followed by the '@' symbol, and then 'therczone.com'. Do not e-mail me a link to the photo. The photo must be attached to your e-mail.
Entry Deadline
All entry's must be submitted on or before the 10th of every month. The poll will be posted on the 10th of every month to ensure everyone gets a fair shot.
Voting For Yourself
You are allowed to vote for whomever you believe has the best entry. However, it is strongly frowned upon and considered bad sportsmanship to vote for yourself. You should vote for your favorite entry other than your own unless you don't like any of them. If a tiebreaker occurs and one member voted for themselves and the other didn't, the member who didn't would be the official winner.
Solicitations & Bribes
Under no circumstances whatsoever may an entrant ask for votes. Doing so will result in an immedate entry removal and possible permanent ban from future contests. If you are contacted by a member requesting votes please notify an administrator or moderator immediately.
TRCZ Marketplace Guidelines
Photos Are Mandatory
A minimum of one recent photo of the actual item (not taken from the manufacturers website) and a detailed description of the item is required. Feel free to utilize the attachments feature which allows you to upload as many photos as you need.
Radio Control Items Only
Only RC items can be sold or traded on this forum. The only time non-RC items are allowed is when a buyer offers it as a trade for an RC item. In other words, sellers can't make a thread for non-RC items.
Leave Feedback
It is important to leave feedback for the member you dealt with whether it be positive or negative. Your experiences can help future marketplace shoppers know who to deal with and who to stay away from. Check the feedback forum to see if a thread has already been created for the person you wish to leave feedback for. Their username will appear as the thread title.
